OUTREACH
SILLY STRING FOR SOLDIERS
New Hope is asking for your donations of Silly String to send to our troops overseas. Containers of Silly String can be brought directly to the church. Monetary donations are being accepted, as well. Be sure to mark the envelope with your name and "Silly String." Silly String allows soldiers to detect wires that may be connected to a bomb without triggering the explosive. Read more about how the string saves lives.
DEACONS OUTREACH SUNDAY
The first Sunday of the month is Deacons Outreach Sunday. A
free will offering to the Deacons will guarantee continued support to the needs
of the community and those less fortunate.
CELL PHONE PROGRAM
Another Way We Want to be Good Stewards of God’s Earth
.
. . and to reach out to the community.
The
Deacons are collecting your “old” cell phones to be distributed to Senior
Citizens by the Westmoreland Area on Aging. These phones will be for emergency
use only by the recipients and will be programmed so that they may call 911 from
their home or vehicle. Please bring in cell phones you are no longer using and
add to the collection box in the Narthex. Thank You!
PAPER RECYCLING PROJECT
As we want to be good stewards of God's earth and to reach out
to the community, please bring in lightweight bags of unbound
paper not too heavy to carry and put them in the recycle box under the
back stairwell. Or take the paper to the green dumpster in the front left of
Hillcrest Intermediate School on Mockingbird Drive. A ministry opportunity is to
take paper from the recycle box to Hillcrest.
